Upstairs by Tom Sheperd

Upstairs by Tom Shepherd is Staffordshire’s first, and only One Michelin starred restaurant, located in the heart of the beautiful, traditional city of Lichfield. The stunning restaurant sits above Tom’s father’s jewellery shop; City Jewellers, boasting a beautiful apex style ceiling and open kitchen, which is the perfect setting for any occasion.

Tom Born in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Tom’s previous experience has seen him work in some of the finest kitchens in the country, which include Restaurant Sat Bains, Michael Wignall at The Latymer and most recently, Adams in Birmingham. Tom also won a prestigious Acorn Award in 2018.

The Brief

Tom asked Ecochef to refurbish the back of house when he extended his restaurant in January 2023. He contacted Ecochef to design his new energy efficient stove, designed to a spec that was suitable for his brigade.

The Facts

Ecochef replaced Toms present stove and as last reported was saving the business £500 off his energy bill.

At peak service a maximum of 40kW per hour is used, a saving of 200kW per hour.
